The Benefits of Thin Porcelain Tiles | TPT| Slim Tiles

Regular tiles are typically around 10mm in thickness. On the other hand,slim tiles are only 5.5mm in thickness, which makes them much lighter than regular tiles. Since they are lighter and hence much easier to install, they make great wall tiles.
Being much thinner than regular tiles, slim tiles can be installed on top of any flat surface floor covering. This makes them ideal for renovation purposes, especially since the cost of removal or demolition of existing floor coverings can be avoided.
They can also be installed on top of existing wall coverings to create a completely new look, again without the costs of removing the existing covering, saving time and reducing the amount of noise and debris. Plus, being much thinner, means that slim tiles work well around door frames and can be applied on top of ventilated faces.
Slim tiles are also easy to cut, drill and handle, while offering technical characteristics comparable to tiles of regular thickness. No special maintenance is necessary and they are very easy to clean.
One of the greatest long term benefits of using slim tiles is the significant reduction in dead load on the building structure. Tiling with slim tiles reduces almost half the weight of conventional tiling, resulting in reduced structure cost.
